The studio was empty save for one easel set up in the middle of the room. a blank peice of paper rested on it and the boy that sat in front of it was unmoving. On a table next to him sat a jar of charrcol pencils and colored pencils, as well as a remote to the sound system. sometimes music gave him inspiration but today it was just distracting. He couldn't think of anything to draw and it was really pissing him off. The boy sighed.
Jamie had been here for a few weeks now, and he had yet to really meet anyone, it was kind of depressing really. Back home he had lots of friends and was always out doing something so it was weird to not have anything to do on a nice afternoon like this besides draw, and he couldn't even do that. He just had no inspiration. no muse. Maybe it was a bad idea to come here after all. maybe he would drop out and go back home. But he didn't want to dissapoint his mom after all this. He sighed. He didn't know what to do anymore.

Walking into the art studio Kennie sighed with relief. Usually it was packed with artists who were drawing and sharing their creativity. Today it was the music and drama departments that were full, making it impossible for her to practice any of her songs for their final recording or practice her finals monologue.
Setting her bag on a nearby table she noticed someone sitting by himself. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear she smiled sweetly. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." She said quickly, picking her bag up once more. Kennie was one of those ever polite type of people and rarely intruded on strangers. "I'm just here to practice my songs and such..." She said quickly...realizing she was rambling she shut up for a moment.

Jamie made no movement to show that he acknowledged the entrance of another girl, but for the slight tilt of his head. He heard her set down her stuff before looking over at her. She saw him and spoke and he gave her a cute lopsided smile. "Not at all. Just trying to think up some inspiration" he said looking back at his blank page. He ran a hand through his longish hair with a frustrated sigh.
He looked back over to the girl and smiled. "Jamie. You?"

Tilting her head to the side Kennie laughed lightly. "Just because you're name is Jamie I'm telling you a secret." She walked a little bit nearer and knelt so they were eye level considering he was sitting. "My real name is Jamie." Standing once more she held her hand out towards him, her hair falling into her face slightly, though no blocking her penetrating eyes. "But friends ...and everyone else...call me Kennie." In her mind, it was a relief to meet someone new. Between Lynn, Will, and Jamie there was no way she could tell Frank she wasn't being social without Twigg by her side.
Walking towards her bag she pulled out a headset and put the ear phones over her ears, though not turning them on. "I really hope you find your inspiration, where do you look for it?" She asked, still not pressing play. It was simply the melody for her disc...and she had that with her specifically for practicing.

Jamie stared at her for a moment before he started laughing. "well isn't that just ironic?" he giggled for a few minutes, watching her go back to her stuff. When she asked about where he got his inspiration he had to think for a moment. "Um...usually i listen to music. a lot comes from just watching people, or good memories. But it would seem that i am completely braindead today" He gave that cute little boy grin again.
He hated when he had no inspiration. it made him frustrated and he usually ended up packing up all his stuff and sulking on his couch with a bowl of taco salad (COMFORT FOOOOD!!) and an America's Next Top Model marathon...or something to that effect.

With the knowledge of what inspired him Kennie felt a little bit better about singing with a complete stranger in the room. Though she did it at the Pit and the campsite often enough...it seemed being alone in a room cause more one on one than she was used to ... at least, again, with strangers. "Yes I believe that is ironic."
For a moment she watched him, her fingers tugging at her bag and pulling out sheets of lyrics and the other things she needed to practice. Kennie was avid with her practicing because when it came to recording...there could no mistakes that weren't intentional. "You don't mind if I practice do you?" She asked him, her smile sweet, kind, and genuine. This guy seemed to be ineresting to say the least.

He smiled over at her. "No i don't mind. In fact, maybe it'll even help" it was true, certain little things could cause the biggest of muse. He pulled a pencil out of his jar and tapped it against his lips. His sketchbook was in his bag but he didn't want the same thing he'd been drawing for the past few days, he wanted something new, different, raw. Something that could be worked on and fine tuned. He closed his eyes and waited for it to come.

Pressing play on her player Kennie realized that he would only hear her voice, not the sound of the music that fit her lyrics. Shrugging internally she cleared her throat as her cue came up. The song, Cry, was one she'd written shortly after she'd met Wyatt, though it wasn't about him for all intensive purposes, he was simply the inspiration for the entire thing. "I'll always remember ... it was late afternoon...it lasted forever....and ended too soon." Taking a breath she paused as the music moved. "You were all by yourself staring up at a dark grey sky, I was changed." Moving to the music slightly Kennie got more into it as the lyrics flowed through her throat, a smile on her face as she recalled that summer to herself. "In places no one would find, all your feelings so deep inside...it was then that I realized....that forever was in your eyes." Pausing once more she remembered the moment vividly as he'd walked away from her. "The moment I saw you cry."

Jamie kept his eyes closed as Kennie started singing and a picture finally started forming in his head. Without opening his eyes he moved his hand forward and moved it across the paper. Only opening his eyes after he finished the first line before continuing. It started out as rough sketch, moving the pencil in time with her voice. The first thing that came out was a sky line. Clouds and rain, over what could have been a lake, but it was currently to early to tell. He listened as she continued.

Moving her hands to her hips Kennie kept her eyes shut, not wanting to allow the personal level of which she was singing at get to her too badly, after all...few people had listened to her sing like this just to listen. And if she caused him inspiration for any sort of picture she'd be ridiculously thrilled, Kennie was always looking for a way to help people.
Her heart was poured into this album, there was no doubting that. Not only because the lyrics were so meaningful, so powerful, but because she was working so hard on it. The music itself was ninety-percent hers, the rest helped by other people's voices or electrical equipment. "It was late in September..." Her voice began once more, she could feel her heart swelling through them. "And I've seen you before...You were always the cold one..." The memories of the reasons the song came to light in her mind were unsurmountable. "And I was never that sure."
Swallowing she allowed herself to open her eyes, only to find Jamie bent over his paper scribbling away. This made her smile. "You were all by yourself staring up at the dark gray sky...I was...changed." Feeling something heavy lift from her Kennie went into the chorus once more, remembering why she'd fallen for Wyatt in the first place...because he'd fallen for her. "In places no one will find, all your feelings so deep inside...was then that I realized that forever was in your eyes..." Closing her eyes once more she saw his face. "The moment I saw you cry..."

With the next first, a person appeared out of his pencil. Standing on the rocks on one side of the lake, facing straight ahead at the veiwer, her arm outstreched, reaching towards someone outside of the frame. Her hair was wet and plastered to her head from the rain, mixing with the tears streaming down her face and a look of pure heartbreak in her eyes. That was just the rough sketch.
Jamie started adding details to it, to make it more pronounced. A boat, floating in the lake, tied to a dock. a lightening bolt coming out from one of the clouds. Shading on the girls face. These small details made all the difference in the world to his drawings. made them look more real.

"I wanted to hold you...I wanted to make it go away...I wanted to know you...I wanted to make your everything all right." Her voice would've cracked had Kennie not had such a good grip on her emotions. The song was nearing it's end and she was looking forward to see what he'd come up with...not to mention what he'd thought when listening to the song. She had rock, ballads...her goal was to have a little bit of whatever she wanted on there. Not just one thing.
"In places no one would find...all your feelings so deep inside! It was then that I realized that forever was in your eyes." Taking in a breath Kennie closed her eyes once more, simply remembering watching Wyatt's back as he walked off, thinking that she was letting him go...when reality her heart had hopped out of her chest and begun running after him, not once looking back at her. Though her heart might not have looked back...he had. "The moment I saw you cry." Just once.
Pressing stop she looked at Jamie as she removed her headphones. "What do you think?" She asked him, her smile genuine as she sat nearer to him, waiting to see what he'd come up with.

Just as she finished her last note, Jamie finished with his last detail and put down his pencil. He smiled and looked over at her. "It was really good, i loved it, and i want a copy when you record it" He looked at his drawing. "One of my best i think. Now i'm wondering if i want to color it in or just leave it black and white" Black and white was so dramatic but Color added emotion and expression. He pondered the thought for a minute before looking back at her. "wanna see?" [/color]

Feeling herself blush at his compliments Kennie nodded in spite of herself. She wanted desperately to know what she'd helped him come up with that was so good, so inspirational. Walking towards him she took the picture, feeling her gasp almost inaudibly. The picture was so vivid...and honest. What else could she say? "It's amazing..." She breathed, trying to find a way to explain it. White Hill didnt' lie when they said they had the best.
"I'll be sure to get you one." She smirked at him, pushign some hair from her face as she sat beside him, pondering the same color vs. black and white question he had been. "I think you should leave it considering it's the original." She said hoenstly, though art was not her strong point.

He smiled at her and watched her look at the drawing, he could tell that she liked it. "yeah i think your right. I'll tell you what too..." he took the paper and grabbed his black sharpie and signed his name at the bottom. "...I'll let you keep this, just make sure that if anyone asks, you tell them who drew it." He handed it back to her. He often gave away his drawings if a certain person inspired it, or if it was a portrait of them. He liked it when people liked his work, and it got the word around about his stuff. so it was a win/win for everyone. [/blockquote]
