It was strangely comforting to just lay there and watch Kennie do the work and make their dinner, it was so normal and simple that it made her smile. Nothing complicated here, nothing like her and Wyatt, nothing like her and Trey. Then again Kennie would always be there for her, she didn't have to worry about silly things like whether to trust her or whether to allow her near her son for fear that she was going to run off one day and never come back, breaking the poor boys heart.
One hand idly playing with her hair she watched her pride and joy from across the room, a small smiling playing about her lips as he continued to half drown himself in juice, that little boy really was the light of her life, it had all been worth it, even keeping everything from Miller, as hard as it had been, had turned out fine. Twigg didn't want to share him with anyone but Kennie. At her best friends words she raised her eyebrows and made a "Hmmm" noise that the girls would know was her reply to a question, no doubt it was something silly like she'd forgot to pay a bill or something. "Go on then?"

Pouring the noodles into a strainer Kennie sighed deeply into the steam that rose into the air in tendrels. Tyler cooed to himself, bubbles of juice and spit appearing and popping lightly on his chin, so small they were barely visible. "That guy...is coming over for a bit tonight." She called out to Twigg, hoping she wouldn't freak out. Kennie hadn't intended for it to be tonight..but at lunch it'd just sort of happened without her noticing honestly.
"Tyler honestly, must you wear everything?" She asked, handing him a carrot stick from the fridge before putting the noodles back in the pot and adding the rest of the ingrediants. If there was one thing she was capable of, it was making sure the baby was alive while the food wasn't burning. Smirking at herself Kennie wondered how she'd made it without the three most important people in her life. Wyatt's face flashed across her mind...maybe four.

((I figured now would be a good time to post, if not I can delete it))
Wyatt pulled up to the house, he didn't manage to catch a glimpse of the time before he cut the engine and too away the power in his car's clock. It was past 8, he knew that much, but it couldn't be too much past. He was running a little later than he'd hoped but was still earlier than he'd expected. He inhaled deeply, and released the breath, trying to force out all the tension with it. This would be his first time meeting Kennie's roommate and he wanted things to go well.
Taking another quick breath Wyatt grabbed the mixed bouquet of orchids and gardenia's he'd picked out and tossed open his door. Just as he had been about to close the door Wy remembered the vase he'd brought and lunged back into the car to pick up the clear vase, letting the tissue paper it was wrapped in fall away. Wyatt hip checked the door close and made his way carefully up to the door of the beach side cottage. Wyatt put the vase down away from the door, took another deep breath and rung the doorbell. His heart was pounding hard in his chest as he slipped the bouquet behind his back, though parts of it probably still stood out. This was going to be good...he hoped.

(Twigg's going to answer the dooooooor =) oh and I'm saying he's already met Tyler at the beach ) Watching her pride and joy from the couch she still had that silly grin fixed on her face as she always did when Tyler was in the proximity, well unless he was making a giant pain of himself and pulling her hair. The news that Kennie's guy was coming over did indeed shock her slightly, the smile wavered, but never fell despite the widening of eyes and hitching up of eyebrows. "Well..." she began, not quite sure how to continue. Instead she pushed herself of the couch and padded across the room to where her son was still wiggling in his high chair, now happily chomping on an orange stick of carrot. Giving him a grin she bent over and plucked him from his perch, bringing him to her chest so she could feel the damage the sippy cup had done. "I guess I better go make him presentable then hadn't I?" the kid looked fine really, his hair was a little damp and his grin a little insane, but Twigg wanted to make this special for Kennie. Closing the distance between her and her best friend she dropped a kiss on her best friends cheek and with a wave of her hand she exited the kitchen. "I'll be five minutes," she promised. Whilst upstairs she selected a cute little dungaree set, it wasn't perhaps something you would expect Twigg to dress her child in, no skulls or anything, but she loved how the little boy looked in denim. Pulling a plain white vest over his head with skill she clipped up the straps and gave his side a tickle. "There, now don't we look handsome?" Dropping a wink she lifted him again and descended the stairs, the sound of the bell reaching her ears as she hit the landing floor. One thing about Twigg was that she had a wonderful long term memory, but a shocking short term one, and mixed with a lack of common sense, it lead her to walk to the front of the house and shift Tyler in her arms so she could easily pull open the screen door. Wondering faintly who it was she stepped out and opened the final door, her green eyes greeting those of Wyatt her... well her Wyatt? A mixture of feelings from happiness to surprise to simple confusion passed through her face as she stood their in silence. How did he find where she lived? Why was he here. A small blush began to creep up her features and she let out a laugh. "What are you doing here hun?"

Wyatt waited at the door patiently but growing more anxious by the second. He was sure he was doing a decent job of hiding it (not that anyone could see him at the moment) but inside his nerves were rather bundled. Things were still so weird for him, what with taking it slow with Kennie while his relationship with Twigg had taken a big step forward when Tyler and her joined him for a day at the beach. Still could he call that a serious relationship, he was nearly positive she must be sleeping with one other guy so clearly they weren't exclusive, but he still felt guilty about coming here to see Kennie, who was at this point just his friend, after all this was the first day they'd even spoken in months. Still it seemed clear where things were going...well maybe not where they were going but it was clear they were going somewhere. He'd need to talk to Twigg about it all later, right now he needed to focus on making sure tonight went well.
He had been looking off in the distance, but as the door opened he looked expectantly to greet, who he assumed would be Kennie. Instead he stood facing the other girl who'd been swarming his mind with Tyler wrapped up in her arms. "Hey...Twigg...heya...Tyler," Wyatt said stumbling confusedly over the words, but offering a smile none the less. Wyatt's expression wasn't dissappointed by any means, he had just taken on a look of pure confusion, he felt as though he must be hallucinating. "I...uh...I'm...not sure" Wyatt said struggling to answer what should have been a simple question. What was he doing here? had he misread the address and by some twilight zone-y coincidence ended up driving to Twigg's rather than Kennie's? Was it perhaps fate that guided him to the house of the person he was supposed to be with?
Then Wyatt looked to the one year old in Twigg's arms and it was like all the pieces of a puzzle coming together at once. "You're Kennie's roommate?" He said technically posing it as a question, but one he already knew the answer to. He now knew why Tyler had seemed so familiar when he saw him at the body shop, Kennie had even said his name was Tyler, how could he not have made the connection then? In fairness he'd only really gotten a glimpse of the boy in the shop, and his mind was a little distracted what with seeing Kennie for the first time in over a year. "...Kennie invited me over...didn't she tell you?" Wyatt asked thinking that Kennie should have at least warned Twigg he was coming.

With Twigg upstairs Kennie began to hum the song she and Wyatt had danced to in the shop. Her thoughts wandering off into her own demension. It seemed that Twigg was fine with meeting him and Kennie wondered why she'd put off telling her before they'd started dinner and such. Shaking her head at herself Kennie continued to hum until she heard the bell ring, Twigg answered the door. Though she couldn't make out what was being said she recognized the voices speaking. Assuming it was pleasantries Kennie continued to stir the pasta, waiting for the butter to melt and turning the stove off before she let it sit so the sauce could thicken a bit.
Drying her hands a bit and fluffing her hair Kennie glanced in the mirror for the first time in what seemed like awhile. Satisfied somewhat with what she saw Kennie walked into the foyer and saw the three people she'd be spending the evening with. "Twigg, this is Wyatt." She said, the smile shining in her eyes though her lips were polite for the time being. Kennie tried not to get too excited when things like this came about, you never knew when someone was going to walk away from you. "You've already met Tyler, Wyatt this is my best friend and roommate Twigg." Standing, basically, between the two she waited for someone to say something, a grin slowly creeping onto her lips. Though she could feel some sort of tension it didn't rub her for long.
"Come on in, the macaroni and cheese...souffle...is almost done." She smirked, they weren't exactly dining fancy for the evening. Taking Wyatt's hand gently she led him in, the smell of the flowers piercing her nose with a familiar scent, the smile comign to her lips finally, though it was unbid. Shutting the door she turned to the two, wondering why this felt strange and why she was ignoring the strangeness.

This wasn't happening. It couldn't be possible...how could it be possible? How, out of all the people in Cape Cod, had Kennie chosen Twigg as her roommate? How was it possible that he could be sleeping with one girl who's roommate just happened to be the ex he couldn't forget? Wyatt was sure he must be dreaming and at the same time he knew he wasn't, he simply wasn't that lucky. This was happening alright, now the only question was what he was supposed to do now.
Kennie seemed oblivious to Wyatt and Twigg's 'relationship' and telling her seemed like a bad idea. Maybe he should just leave, say he wasn't feeling well or something, but that would make it obvious, and then what if Twigg told Kennie what was really going on after he left, then he would look like a total jerk. Wyatt didn't want to lie to Kennie, but he really didn't seem to see any other option. Besides it was for her own good. "Yea, I remember Tyler," Wyatt said smiling at the little boy again. He was an actor, all he had to do was act like he didn't know Twigg for the night...hopefully it was as easy to do as it was to say. "Twigg, that's an interesting name. It's nice to finally meet you," he said smiling to Twigg as innocently as possible, hopefully she would get what he was doing and play along...otherwise he was in a lot of trouble.
"I brought these for you...both of you...or all three of you," Wyatt said holding out the bouquet once Kennie had led him inside. He didn't want to make it too much like it was a present for Kennie, especially now Twigg was revealed as the roommate. "I have a vase to let me grab it," he said deciding keeping himself busy was the best way to avoid the fact that there was a rather large elephant in the room. Wyatt grabbed the vase from the porch and brought it over to the sink filling it with a little water. He put the flowers in the vase and plucked at them lightly so they fell in a more attractive manner. "I hope you like them," he said keeping his focus on the pink and white of the flowers as long as he could. He cast a quick look to Twigg to see how she was handling the situation before bringing his gaze back to Kennie, "Do you need help with anything?" he asked hoping for some little job to do to keep him busy.

The way Wyatt was acting didn't surprise Kennie in the least. Everyone was nervous to a degree when they met important people in someone else's life. Thinking nothing of it she leaned over and pecked Tyler on the top of his head, keeping her gaze on Wyatt, doing all she could to fight the butterflies that rose in her stomach...such a familiar feeling yet so foreign all at the same time. Taking the flowers she smirked at him, remembering all too easily the conversation they'd had about them. The two worked well together like that. "They're beautiful." She said, attempting to be surprised at the sight of the gift.
Taking his hand she led him in, smiling at Twigg. Though the excitement was clear on her face Kennie could sense something bothering Twigg, which brought part of Kennie crashing down. The part that was hopelessly dedicated to her best friend. "You guys want to eat and watch the movie. Or do you want a tour?" She asked, directing her attention to Wyatt as she asked the second question. She couldn't quite put her finger on what was bothering the room, but there was something. Smiling in spite of herself she waited for an answer. Tyler cooing playfully near her.
Pushing her fingers through her hair the scent of macaroni and cheese began to swarm them all, the doors were closed and the windows were open, allowing the salty air to mix with their delicate dinner. Without an answer Kennie exited the room for a moment, a smile on her face. Upon setting the vase on the counter she stared, wondering what was going to come next out of life's bag of tricks. Things had a way of shifting for her when she least expected it. Turning her thoughts to food she pulled out their plasticware and began shoveling food onto each plate, making sure Tyler's was as mess proof as she could make it. Taking two trays she entered the living once more, feeling the tension hovering over them all like a fog.
As she set the plates down Kennie couldn't help but feel there was something she was missing, yet there was nothing in her that honestly wanted to know. Her best friend was meeting the guy who'd managed to steal her heart...and he was doing so again and they weren't even trying. Smirking she headed into the kitchen to retrieve the other two plates.
