Wyatt let his hands fall softly to Kennie's waist as she stepped into his arms and the began to move lightly in time to music. It was nice to have her back in his arms, and her body seemed to fit so well against his, it was just like...well it just felt right to hold her again, it hardly seemed like any time had passed at all really. It was like it was still summer, a summer he'd wished would never end, but long since had.
"I'm not really sure actually," Wyatt said deciding to be completely upfront rather than force a hasty decision to tell Kennie what she wanted to hear. "I feel like we can't exactly pick up where we left off now that it's been so long, but we can't exactly just start over and forget the past either," He said keeping Kennie held close to him. Her lips kept bobbing up close to his but he was working to resist the urge to meet them. He wanted to say they could just be together, but Wyatt wasn't sure anymore.
He was so afraid of messing things up, things were just too good with Kennie and from past experience the better something got the worse it was going to end up. He wanted Kennie and himself to work, but could they? "What do you think?" he asked hoping for some feedback, maybe hoping she'd force him into a decision...though he wasn't sure if that would be helping or hurting at this point.

Though his body molded hers more than any of the guys she'd hooked up with in the last year and a half Kennie couldn't help remembering the song that she'd written shortly after he'd left. She and one of her childhood boys were sitting on the beach tinkering with sounds for a duet when she came up with one that involved losing air...her air. It had evolved and they'd just recently put it to good use, his voice being out of use for the time being due to something or other was not helping. It struck Kennie as almost funny that she was thinking about that right then when she had what she'd always wanted back.
Instead of answering his question with something that made sense or stated that it was his decision she smiled, tilted her head and relaced her fingers at the nape of his neck, her thumb tracing the hair that hit her fingers. "If you could do anything at this moment..." She began, her eyes twinkling, the baby sleeping and the song filtering through her. "What would you do?"
The question made perfect sense, after all, Kennie was one to plant surprises on people at the strangest moments. This couldn't surprise him all that much could it? Moving to the rhthym with him she shuddered once more, a small smile at her lips with her shining eyes and a feeling inside her that she was sure she wouldn't feel again...at least not for a very long time.
Perhaps he'd be the one to record her duet with her...or not. That was an absurd idea, but she couldn't help toying with it as they moved, as she waited for an answer to her question.

Answering a question with another question...although the new question didn't really answer his question at all, but it did sort of make sense. It was completely unfair though, poor Wyatt was a sucker for a set-up like that. Holding her close, music playing softly in the background, her lips consistently bouncing up so close to his, what else was there for him to respond with? There was only one thing Wyatt could think that he wanted to do.
"Well...I guess if I could do anything it would be this," Wyatt answered bringing his right hand up from his face brushing Kennie's hair away from her face lightly as he leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her lips. He held the kiss for only a few seconds before pulling away, it was close mouthed and no tongue just a soft simple pressure of her delicate lush lips against his, and it had been better than he imagined. But did that seal the fact that they were back together now? Or did this leave them in the same place as before only slightly more complicated.
Wyatt wanted to be with Kennie, but he didn't want to rush it. He wanted to make sure he was ready to be the kind of guy she deserved before they started dating. He wanted more than anything to just know if they could stay together because he couldn't stand the thought of hurting her, but he had a bad track record of leaving girls broken hearted.

When she'd asked the question Kennie had known exactly how he would react. It was what she hoped for, it was what she wanted. Everything in her had to know if he could still do to her what he used to. If he could still hold the entire world to her on a platter through their lips. If he could make her entire mental function stop with the simple feeling of flesh upon flesh between the two of them.
Though there was nothing but simplicity in the action of the kiss....Kennie felt it farther than even her toes would go. That was something no one had done to her before or since Wyatt. There was one thing that made him simply unforgetable in her world. "I think I' would've done the same thing." She smiled lightly, looking up at him, not realizing they were no longer dancing.
Staring up at him, his hand on her cheek, the music flowing softly and their breathing was the only sound around them for a moment. She wasn't going to force them to try all over again. But Kennie had had to know what it would feel like...it felt better than she could've ever imagined. Reading into his expression Kennie wanted desperately to know what was going on in hs head. She had to know if they could start again, if they could ever be themselves again...the two people they were with each other.
"Let that help whatever you want to do." She said, smirking at him. After all, just because they had kissed didn't mean they had to be together. But she wouldn't lie, she sure as hell hoped they would end up that way. You couldn't hold out for a person for a year and half without talking...and not feel it when they resurfaced.

Wyatt smiled knowing he had played right into Kennie's hand but not really minding. If he hadn't wanted to kiss her, he wouldn't have. He'd just given her the perfect opportunity to do so maybe a bit earlier than he had expected (or hoped.) His lips still tingly lightly from the broken kiss. Part of him longed to go in for another kiss, but he held back. He wanted to take things slow for now.
"I want us to be together," Wyatt said deciding it was time to share his thoughts. Hopefully, Kennie would understand. "I just want to make sure we can stay that way," he said adding the less than easy to say part of his decision. "I think we should just...take things slow for now...is that okay?" Wyatt asked really wanting to hear a yes...though honestly he wasn't exactly sure what taking it slow meant. Probably just hanging out for a little as friends, making sure they were still compatible, that he could make this work. If the kiss had been any indication that shouldn't be a problem.

Nodding in agreement as Wyatt spoke Kennie was acutely aware that her entire body felt lighter than a feather and her stomach was where her heart should be, vice versa as well. Her smile widened ever so slowly with his words, but she kept it light as well. Not wanting to be anxious or anything in the like. What did being together entitle for them? She wasn't sure...but she was realizing that waiting for real relationships to come to her was paying off in the way she had thought only happened in dreams.
Allowing her face to fall into a serious expression she bore into hs eyes with her own. "Is this taking things slow?" She asked him before standing on her tip toes, allowing her arms to slip around his neck and her lips met his. Not too hard, not too soft. But they fit against his with enough passion to get him thinking about it when he least expected it. At least that was what she was going for.

Wyatt's lips met Kennie's this time it had been her who initiated the kiss. Damn she was making this very difficult. The kiss was so perfect and soft with just the right bit of passion. He gave himself over to the kiss and waited for their lips to part, fall away slowly from each from each other so he could speak again.
"Actually I've never really taken it slow before, but I think we can consider that slow," Wyatt said smiling not wanting to exclude kissing as he wasn't sure he would be able to resist. He was already getting anxious to do more, but that would definitely not be taking it slow. Soft short kisses, that was taking it slow, so for now that was all they would do. And they weren't officially together again, not yet at least, but it was more or less a certainty for the near future, as long as things kept going well at least.

Her body tingled to do more, to feel him against her like she had awhile ago. The way their bodies seemed to mold into each other in a way that she'd never even seen in movies or read in novels. It was a rarity to her and she remembered craving it...but speaking to him was just as good. The songs words were gone physically but her entire body and mind were still in that place with Wyatt.
"I would definitly say that is slow....any slower and we'd both go insane." She smirked, giving him a slight wink before stepping away slowly. If Kennie wasn't careful she'd go all out, giving him a kiss she knew he would hold onto and refuse to let end. That was something that happened when their lips touched..almost as if he'd fused them together. The idea made her laugh out loud, but quietly for the sake of the one year old sleeping nearby.
"I have lunch in an hour if you want to go..." She said, looking towards the clock behind him, putting her hands in her back pockets as traffic picked up behind him. Her appointment hadn't shown up, though it irritated her Kennie couldn't be that upset...she'd gotten something so much better.

"Haha, I would say so," Wyatt smiled. It was hard enough to keep it at just kissing, anything less would surely drive him crazy. It just wouldn't be fair to have this amazing girl who you liked and knew liked you back and not even be able to bring your lips to hers and dance around a little. They were moving at a snails pace, and Wyatt actually felt good about it. This way they would know if it was right before they got in over their heads.
"Sure, I'd like that," Wyatt said more than willing to jump at the opportunity to spend more time with Kennie, of course he didn't let his voice show these thoughts keeping his tone casual but still sincere. "Should I just come back and pick you and Tyler up in an hour...or did you want me to bring something here...?" Wyatt asked not sure quite what Kennie had planned for them. He'd made sure to include Tyler as he assumed the little guy would be joining them.

It was exhilerating to be making plans with Wyatt...of all people she could've had lunch with he was the last person she expected it to be. Her heart was dancing inside her chest, making her greatful that he couldn't see through her skin. Smiling at his comments she thought for a moment. They could just go to the diner for lunch. "His mom is picking him up in a little bit, what do you say about meeting at the diner in an hour?" She asked him, tilting her head to the side once more.
Part of Kennie wanted Wyatt to just..have his way with her right there on the floor of her shop. Though that probably wasn't legal, with glass windows, or sanitary for obvious reasons. Tyler shifted in his sleep and she watched him from the corner of her eye before catching Wyatt's gaze once more. Smirking his way, his lips were like a drug...something she just wanted over and over again. It ate at her that she might not be the only girl he was kissing.

"Alright sounds good," Wyatt said both glad and not so glad Tyler would not be joining him. Glad because now it would be easier for them to kiss and such, not so glad because...it would be far easier for them to kiss and such. It was hard enough taking it slow when Wyatt's couldn't stop thinking about ripping of Kennie's clothes and throwing her down onto the desk so he could take her the way he desired.
At least the diner would be a public place, so they really couldn't get away with anything...unless they went into the restroom, maybe then they could...why was he even thinking this? He was the one who wanted to go slow for chrissakes...not to mention public bathroom in a diner probably not super clean. He just would have to make sure they ended with lunch, no going back to her place or his to extend their time together...no matter how badly he wanted to, he would need to resist, it was for the best.

"Alright, see you in an hour." The smile on Kennie's lips proved that she wanted him just as badly as she could see he wanted her. If there was one thing they'd always had a problem with when they'd been together it'd been keeping their hands off each other. They had plenty of conversations and fun things and the like...but there was always some sort of touching and kissing between them. Someone had come in the shop after he'd left one day stating it was so perfect it was nauseating.
Smirking at him once more she pulled her hair back into a messy bun and leaned over the playpen, checking that Tyler was still satisfied in his one year old sleep haven. "I'm glad you came." She said, looking at him at the end of her sentence, allowing it to trail off. Lust and Desire were visible in his eyes, she felt the same way...but there was something else there too. She just couldn't explain it to the fullest extent.
