Dropping the slightly sodden rag onto the top of the dull wooden surface of the bar, she reached up with her now free hands and gathered up the loose strands of hair that had escaped her messy plaits, to tuck behind her ears. It wasn't often that she tamed her unique locks, but after a night in the scorching hot bar, long strands of hair got in your way so much you almost reached for a pair of scissors. Today had been one of her few free days away from the record store and her, Kennie and Tyler had spent it toasting marshmallows on the beach as the little boy made his best effort at building a sand castle, however the sweetness hadn't lasted and here she was, at the second of her glorious jobs, wiping down the dirty top of the bar and pouring drinks for the already half intoxicated.
Hopefully the night would pick up, but with it being mid week and with no gig it didn't seem too promising really. Bending slightly she grabbed an empty tumbler for herself from under the bar and helped herself to the only perk to the job, a cold glass of Jack Daniels, of course if she got too carried away they'd be carrying her out of here instead of her tossing them out. Walking to the end of the bar she took a seat on her stool that she always reserved for herself, set her drink down and opened up the gossip magazine that was laid on the top. Though she wasn't usually one for celeb gossip, there was little else to do around here.

It was the middle of the week and no band was playing. For most normal people a combination of those two things would be reason enough to stay away from the fire pit. Wyatt Astley however was not quite normal. Not in this instance anyway. He was drawn to the fire pits bar for it's lack of popularity tonight. No screaming drink orders over music and reaching across the drunks already situated the bar. Just a nice atmosphere (if you could ignore a few of the louder drunks that were bound to be present) and of course alcohol. It had been awhile since Wyatt's last drink so he figured it was about time.
Wyatt approached the bar to find it's keeper sitting on the end stool flipping through the local tabloid. He hadn't known Twigg would be the one working the bar tonight, but he had hoped she would. He slid up onto the stool next to her and mocked looking around for the bartender. "Geez, who do you have to fuck in order to get a drink around here?" he teased feigning agitation turning to Twigg with a big smile. He got to poke fun at the fact that she was neglecting her bar duties and reference the fact that they were sleeping together in one joke, it was quite fun but perhaps a bit too easy a shot to take. Wyatt and Twigg had never gotten past having sex, but he did honestly have feelings for the girl...probably the biggest reason he wanted to stay out of an actual relationship with her.

Reaching a finger up she licked her fingertips before flipped the page before her, reading about how some movie star was divorcing his wife because he believed she was cheating on him. Who cared? He was probably screwing the nanny anyway. Extending her arm blindly she curled her slender fingers around the cool glass of the tumbler and raised it to her lips. As long as she could remember Jack Daniels had been her favourite guy, always there when other ones split to drown her woes and find her a new one. Taking a mouthful she swallowed a little too quickly when she heard a familiar voice. Turning her head her piercing green eyes connected with those of Wyatt. At first his words didn't register but finally a small smirk curled her pale lips, she'd left off the war makeup tonight for a normal night in the bar.
Twisting slightly on the chair she wrapped her legs around his in a greeting gesture. "I believe that would be me," dropping her hands to the bar she rested one hand on his thigh, there was just something about Wyatt that made him worth sticking around, it wasn't often that Twigg had a regular guy like him. "Though to be fair that would mean I owe you too many drinks." Not bothering to get up yet she gave him another smile, "So what can I get you?"

Wyatt smiled as Twigg crossed her legs with his. Just the first physical contact of the night and Wyatt was already imaging where they would end up. Oddly enough though Wyatt was looking forward to sharing conversation just as much as as he was the possibility of another night spent beneath the covers. Twigg was someone he really felt able to relate to, someone who was a lot deeper than she let on, couldn't seem to make a relationship work, and just a generally interesting person
"And one day I intend on calling your tab," Wyatt smirked. "As for now how bout a 7 & 7," he added almost as if he was asking for Twiggs approval of his order. He passed up the opportunity to make a joke and ask for a sex on the beach. Though he could go for that as well, in both senses of the phrase. Instead he'd fallen back on a classic seven and seven. Something about the combination of soda and vodka seemed appealing. Though he may decide to drop the soda after his first drink.
"So, how's life been treatin' you love?" Wyatt asked One arm resting on the bar, the other on the hand Twigg had placed on his thigh. Even if they were just 'sex buddies' Wyatt cared about the goings on in Twiggs life, any problems he could help fix, worries he could make her forget. He liked to share in the good things to. How her band was doing, anything really just as long as they talked.

The feel of the smooth muscles of his legs through the thin nylon of her purple tights was both thrilling and comforting, it was strange how Twigg treasured the moments after the sex just as much as the act itself, it was rare she was able to just lay in bed in someone's arms and enjoy the closeness between them without having to worry about something stupid like who was going to walk in. Flipping a braid over her shoulder she leaned in and rested her chin on his shoulder so she was close enough to kiss him, another act done more for comfort than the obvious flirting. "I look forward to the day," neither of them seemed to comment on the fact that so far she had made no move to get his drink, she would get it, just after she'd got her hello kiss and was satisfied enough to leave him.
At the order she had curled her lips, no doubt thinking the same thing he was. "You missed so many innuendos then, I'm surprised at you Wyatt," the guy was always one for finding some wise crack or another about their highly active sex life. In most people it would be annoying, but in him she found it endearing, it was just another thing that worried her about their relationship, the prospect of getting too close, terrified her, relationships hadn't gone so good for her in the past and she didn't want her love life to effect Tyler's childhood.
The question allowed her to rip her mind from the worrying but exciting thoughts about their future, surely they'd have to talk about it soon, but for now their only problems should be where the night would take them whether it would be some secluded area of the cape, somewhere more exciting or simply his place. They never went to hers, it was to risky. What with Tyler and Kennie there. Wyatt was the only guy she'd even kept secret from her best friend, no doubt the girl would want to meet him, and that would start the introduction to her full time life, something that she wasn't sure they were ready for. "Everything's been going good," a smile punctuated the words, one that conveyed a little too much emotion for her "a blend of Tyler and work and school as usual," she never liked to play up her life, just mentioned what was important. "How about you love?"

Twigg made no attempt to get up and get Wyatt's drink, but he really didn't mind. He liked where she was and in time she would get it. Or not. He'd been without alcohol for awhile now, one more night wouldn't do him any harm. Besides alcohol was no longer going to be the highlight of his night anyway.
"I know, I've been pretty off my game recently," Wyatt responded giving a quick smile but far more serious than he would have liked to be. "I guess we'll just have to save the sex on the beach for later," he smiled knowing he'd missed two shots at the jokes and it was now a bit late but still it fit well enough to draw at least a small smile from Twigg. Somehow Wyatt could pull off cliche lines and bad puns, maybe just because of the sincere innocence he had or the warm smile that always followed as if he knew how stupid he must sound but you should like him anyway....And most people did.
"Things have been good for me as well, " Wyatt answered not quite as sure of himself as Twigg had been. "Finally getting used to being back at school," he smiled. Things were just confusing. He still wasn't really sure what to do about Kennie. He hadn't been to see her since returning, but he wanted to soon, and he would but tonight he was with Twigg. That relationship was far less confusing. He knew where they stood the only question was to how long they could stay that way? Wyatt liked their relationship, but sometimes he wondered about what the future held for them. They could never have a real relationship as neither was very good at them and Wyatt could get quite jealous. But if things stayed the same he would eventually end up written out of Twigg's life, once she figured out how to have a real relationship and as much as Wyatt would like to think it wouldn't bother him, it would because even if they said their relationship was 'just sex' it wasn't.

Twigg would have to move soon, not only to get Wyatt's drink but also to cater to the needs of the other punters in the bar. They were pretty docile for the most part but if they were denied a drink they could turn nasty, snipping at her for weeks after until they thought she had suffered enough, and she was often surprised at how quickly they managed to polish off a whole pitcher of beer.
When he finally gave her what she had been waiting for, a easily spotted pun she laughed against his ear and gave him a look of mock shock. "Why you are forward tonight Mr. Astley," normally she would have visibly deflated at such a line, but with him it was fine. Turning him slightly she wrapped her arms around his neck and forcedly pulled his face, and lips down to hers, their mouths crushing together with a strange intensity that they were able to turn on and off as easy as a light. There was a smile on her lips as she kissed him, that he would no doubt feel as she parted his lips with with her tongue and briefly explored the familiar territory.
Pulling back she gave another grin and tossed her plaits, which she often unnecessarily did. The grin had a hint of both teasing and seduction as she gave him one more squeeze between her circling legs and untangled herself from him to stand up and move off her stool, behind the bar. Bending she picked up a tumbler and made an "Ahh," sound before straightening "That's right, what's it like being back at school nor ou're a big superstar then? Should I be getting worried by your fans," she always loved to tease him about such things, but he knew it was only in good jest and she flashed him another charming smile as she reached the glass up to catch the vodka as it fell from the bottle.

Wyatt smirked, at the comment. Somehow he always thought it was a little funny that he be the forward one between Twigg and himself. Of course it felt like nothing was really forward for the two of them. The smirk faded away into the kiss as Twigg pulled his lips to hers. He felt the smile that had taken over Twigg's lips and returned the smile mentally, as it would have been impossible physically as his lips parted to allow Twigg's tongue entrance into his mouth, where his own tongue was anxiously awaiting.
Wyatt slid his tongue over Twigg's attempting to work his way into her mouth as she had his. It was one of those kisses that, to someone who didn't know better, would seem remarkably like they were each attempting to eat the others face. Wyatt felt Twigg start to pull away, and reluctantly he followed, pulling back to a more upright position himself. It wasn't until their lips were fully separated that Wyatt recalled there were others at the bar who would be needing drinks, and he himself had ordered one, though could care less about getting it at this point.
Wyatt returned the seductive smile as Twigg unraveled their legs and set about mixing his drink. "Well, I certainly will have a few fan girls," Wyatt laughed. He already had a fan site apparently, though it wasn't very big, just the fact that someone liked your character enough to find out more about the actor behind the character. He was considering starting some sort of blog for his fan girls (and boys) to follow along with the happening of his every day life, which could be quite exciting at times."I don't think you have anything to worry about though," he added smiling. He knew Twigg was just teasing and hadn't exactly been quaking in her boots at the threat of a flock of teenagers coming after her, but he felt he should ease her lack of fears any way.

Reaching down she scooped up the half empty bottle of soda that she would be needing, doing a half twirl behind the bar she grinned at Wyatt, catching his smile and sensing the tone as easily as she was able to sense Kennie's. It was amazing how much you could learn about someone's habits and demeanors when you spent most the time in bed, having sex or simply laying their in each others arms. Then again, she'd always been good at reading people, and some guys were just easy to dissect mentally, not that that was particularly a bad thing. Unscrewing the bottle she poured some of the fizzy clear liquid into the vodka that already sat in the glass before recapping it and dropping it back into it's original position.
Picking up the tumbler she crossed the few feet of sticky bar floor to the wooden monstrosity that lined this side of the room. Leaning her elbows onto the top she handed him his drink, an equally seductive and teasing smile now on her lips as she leaned forward, her low cut top and position giving showing him a lot more than she would usually allow a customer to see. "Ah, well when you get it up and running be sure to send me the address," reaching out she tuck up her own glass that was still half full, and raised it to her lips, though perhaps learning more about his life would make the feelings that were already threatening to crash into their relationship, all the more stronger. "I'll be the first one to join."

Twigg looked good standing behind the bar mixing up his drink. Of course Twigg looked good just about anywhere, but this was one of the moments Wyatt got to take notice of just how good she looked. Wyatt lifted the glass and took a small sip allowing his eyes a short casual glance down the low cut shirt Twigg had strategically placed. It seemed rude not to look when a girl like that was so intentionally careless. The key was not to stare though, especially considering it wasn't anything he hadn't seen before. Still a sly seductive smile played on Wyatt's lips as he brought his gaze back up to Twiggs eyes, placing his glass back on the bar.
"I'll make sure to do that," Wyatt said lifting the glass slightly but not yet taking a drink. He couldn't promise Twigg would be the first to join, but he could send her the address first and hope she made the first ten. It was amazing how people could find things so quickly on the internet...Though he supposed that was the point. "Are you sure you'd even want to read my blog? I mean you may actually learn something about me," Wyatt said poking fun at their relationship. Though there was a serious under note. If he was going to do a blog he would want to do it right, an there would be some deep stuff in there. Was Twigg ready to get that deep of a look at Wyatt's life?
Maybe it was a little early for such questions, after all, he would actually have to write the Blog first.

Green eyes watched as he continued to raise his glass to his lips without drinking, it was a sign that he was distracted and Twigg wasn't modest or foolish enough not to realise it was her that had captured his attention so completely. Girls like her were always aware of what they were doing, and how they looked, otherwise her screw them now, ask questions later, lifestyle would not have prevailed this long, it didn't work without being able to catch a guys eye, and keep it. Pushing herself back up off the bar she ran a hand through brightly coloured and extended hair, something she was especially proud of, for the past few days she had been contemplating going back to the colour her hair was before she came to Cape Cod; pink, but maybe that would terrify Wyatt.
Though she knew it was only teasing, his words took her aback and stung her more than she thought anything he could do would. Blinking slightly she shrugged, ducking her head to hide her eyes as she made the excuse to pick up a glass to take care of an order that had just been shouted at her from the end of the bar. Straightening again she avoided his gaze and gave a small smile, he had managed to make her sound so cold and emotionless without even meaning to and she didn't know how to recover. If only he knew how much she had been longing to learn more about the boy beneath the body recently.

Wyatt knew immediately from Twigg's reaction that she did not find his comment quite as humorous as he intended it to be. He cursed himself silently and took a long, self loathing sip from his drink as she went off to fetch a drink for someone else down the bar. He just had to push it didn't he? Had to poke fun at something he should have known would strike a nerve. Why couldn't he just keep his mouth shut? But was it really that big a thing to Twigg?
After all she was the one shutting him out. Wyatt almost never denied a request for information, Twigg just hardly asked. They always went back to his place, which he understood the reasons for...but that was kind of his point. He was secret, kept away from the rest of her life, which he still didn't mind, but why not call it what it was? The fact was that wasn't all it was. It was more complicated and his joke simplified it, made Twigg look like a heartless whore, which she wasn't by any means.
Wyatt stared at the wooden bar for a second and bit his lip. He should have known he would find a way to screw things up with Twigg sooner or later, he always did. "Twigg...I'm sorry...you know I didn't mean it...I was just joking," he said desperately wanting take the words back, but knowing an apology was about the best he could do at this point. Hopefully the damage wasn't so bad that it couldn't be fixed. Maybe it would even end up being a positive thing, opening the door for her to actually try investigating his own life and maybe even allowing him into hers.

Silence was always the best option when Twigg and Wyatt fell out. If she spoke she would either snap at him, ruining their relationship for as long as a week at times, or she would spill her heart out, tell him how the last thing she wanted to do was drive him out of her life and keep him at a distance, how she'd give anything to be able to embrace him and introduce him to Tyler so the two could bond. Yet she never did either because both repercussions scared her. What if he left? What if he decided he'd had enough of her flakey attitude and her determination to keep her distance from him? She wasn't sure she could bear it.
The best she could do was to turn her head away again, serve the old man, who's eyes were a little too intense for her liking, and give Wyatt a small distracted nod, try to brush past it and pretend it had never happened, pretend the words hadn't stabbed at her heart so painfully. With a smile she handed back the guys change and wiped her hands on the apron that was hung up by the bar that she was supposed to wear, it was mostly for procrastination, but she managed to find a sticky spot to busy herself for a few moments. Finally ready to confront him she hitched a nonchalant smile onto her lips and turned back to him. At least he looked sorry enough, and the look on his face and the tone of his voice had been heart wrenching, threatening to make Twigg spill her heart.
Shaking her head she shrugged. "It doesn't matter, don't worry about it," reaching out she grabbed her cup and took another mouthful, making sure to keep a little more of a distance than before, the sexual tension had been sucked from the air, leaving it chilly and stifling. Trying to make a step in the right direction she gave another shaky smile that didn't hide her sadness well enough. "Hey, how about you take me and Tyler to the beach tomorrow?" It would be the first time Wyatt would meet her son, and surely it couldn't be that bad, right?

"You mean it?" Wyatt asked a little shocked. He'd been wanting to meet Tyler for sometime now...basically since he learned of the boys existence, but Twigg had always been against it. Wyatt never pushed the issue, because it was easy to see why Twigg would be hesitant. After all their relationship wasn't exactly stable...though sadly it was more stable than many others Wyatt had. But suppose Tyler becomes attached to him and things don't work out with Twigg, which in all likelihood they eventually won't, then what happens? Wyatt would never want to leave the boy but have no choice. But now he was being offered the chance to not only meet, but spend the day with Tyler and his mother.
"I would love to," Wyatt beamed deciding it was maybe not wise to give Twigg too much time to object. He was rather caught between wanting to seize the opportunity before Twigg could change her mind and letting her take her time in deciding if this was really what she wanted. But really what was so wrong with it? It would be one day at the beach, if it went well maybe their could more, and if not there would be no harm done...right? Of course that was right. A day at the beach of playing in the water and building sand castles and just laying out in the sand and enjoying the company. As images of the day to come started to fill his head Wyatt realized maybe Tyler wasn't the one he needed to worry about getting to attached.
This would be a big step for them, but maybe it was about time they took some sort of step. Or maybe Wyatt was trying to read to hard into all this, but he still couldn't help an inner satisfaction and happiness at this new prospect. The entire mood of the conversation had changed so quickly, sex on the beach had now turned into a day at the beach which meant he and Twigg would actually be almost acting like a couple...or at the very least friends. Either way Wyatt didn't mind having to trade a night of debauchery for a day of fun in the sun...of course given how quickly the mood of the conversation had shifted so far, there was no telling just where the night would go.

Twigg couldn't miss the shock on his face, and for some reason it brought a small smile to her face to think that it was such a big deal for Wyatt to meet Tyler and it seemed to be a good thing too. Giving a small nod, the smile spread across her full lips and she met his eyes fearlessly this time, all the shakeyness in her stomach gone so that it was no longer insisting on doing too many flips for its own good. There was of course still the horrible niggling sensation in her back of her mind that was telling her that this was going to be a bad decision, that it was going to end in disaster and she would be regretting it for a long time to come, but she pushed past that.
"Good, how about tomorrow? Let's say 12?" She wouldn't expect him to pick the two up, that was going slightly too far and she preferred to have the short walk to the beach to pluck up her courage and get herself ready for what would follow. No doubt it would turn out to be a great day and prove only that she had been over reacting all this time. Flipping her hair she tried not to get too excited, now that she had finally arranged the meeting and he had said yes, she was slowly beginning to really look forward to it.
There was no denying this was a big step, it was also a possible way of cementing their relationship, making it almost serious even? Once the boy had met him he would become infatuated, as he always did, but maybe she could control it? Well she hoped she could anyway. Leaning against the bar again she smiled slightly and laid her hands over his, in on of the most 'girlfriendly' ways she could, though that wasn't the aim, she just wanted to feel his touch at that moment it was the nearest thing to her.
