Walking along the beach, her jeans rolled up past her knees, her tank top tight as usual, and her shoes and socks dangling from her fingertips Kennie looked every bit the Cape girl that she was. It'd been an eventful week not leaving her much time to just walk along her favorite place in the world. Not giving her a moment to ponder the events that had unfolded in the recent days.
Pushing some of her hair from her face she dug her toes into the sand, closing her eyes for a moment as the tide washed over her feet slowly, the heart tattoo on her toe still visible beneath the water that was covering and uncovering it. Opening her eyes she watched the ocean lap at the world around her, knowing that there was nothing more vast in the world.
That was what brought her thoughts to Wyatt once more. He'd been in her head on and off since he'd shown up in her shop. It wasn't that she didn't want to be near him, it was the opposite. But standing on the beach, watching the sun set in it's different colors she was hit with a sense of nostalgia like she couldn't believe. Sucking in the salty air she dropped her shoes, not caring that the water was covering them.
It was entirely possible in Kennie's mind that she and Wyatt may very well be able to start over...or where they'd left off...then there was the possibility that they couldn't, she couldn't be quite sure. With the sight in front of her though Kennie was pretty sure that...at that point...anything was possible.

Lynn sat not far from the shoreline. Just far enough to where the water touched her toes a few times. She may have not been able to watch the surf, but she still enjoyed listening to it. The sound of the ocean crashing against the shore had always soothed her. Even before the accident that had brought her into the world of darkness she was in now.
She reached back down to her accoustic guitar and made sure it was in tune before she slowly started to play a little tune her mother used to sing her to sleep with. Her blue eyes just unseeingly gazed out at the water. Most people didn't realize she was blind until they made some type of move like offering their hand for a shake or the likes of that. The fact that the dark sunglasses on her face hid her eyes, which meant no one could see that her eyes weren't moving around, is what usually gets them. She couldn't see their expressions, but she always knew it took them by surprise. It wasn't every day you talked to a blind person.
She had her hair in a low hanging ponytail and she had on a vintage coca-cola shirt with a pink zip up hoodie on over it and a pair of her jeans with two big holes in the knees of them. Her shoes were sitting next to her with her cane collapsed into the handle sitting in one of them. She felt the wind brush over her face and she instinctively closed her eyes as she smiled warmly and took in a deep breath while she continued to play on the guitar happily. When she usually just got away to think she would most often be playing one of her guitars as well. If she could she probably would bring a piano out with her, but that wasn't going to happen any time soon.

Hearing someone's guitar made Kennie shiver with pleasure before looking around to find whoever was responsible for the beautiful sound. Bending over she picked up her wet shoes and began walking towards the girl she saw near the surf, playing a very nice looking acoustic. A smile crossed her face, someone just as passionate as she it seemed.
Sitting near the girl she bobbed her head to the music, not wanting to disturb it just yet with her gushing and such. After a few moments she couldn't resist. Leaning back on her elbows, her feet tucking themselves into the folds of sand and surf she smiled. "That's beautiful." She said with a low sigh. It would probably ruin it if she looked at the girl, someone who in Kennie's opinon was honestly familiar.
"I'm Kennie." She said simply, not making a movement towards the girl. Just making idle conversation with someone whose heart was captured by music much like her own.

She heard what she thought were feet padding through the sand, but she didn't stop. She just continued playing the song. It was an old Irish lullaby her mother liked to sing her to sleep with. And there had been nights that Lynn had actually begged her mother to sing it.
She turned her head in the direction she heard the voice as her eyes fluttered back open, but there was no change to the veiw she had, and smiled softly. " Thanks." She said sweetly nodding her head as she slowly brought the song to an end. She gently rested her hand on the neck of the guitar and took in a deep breath of sea scented air.
She nodded her head gently smiling gently. "I'm Lynn." She said said softly as she carefully set the guitar down next to her shoes and cane before her head turned back to where she assumed Kennie to be.

Staring out to sea Kennie savored the place she'd been given the privelage of growing up. Though her childhood and teenage years weren't exactly the type she'd want for anyone....it didn't ruin the Cape for her. A surprise to most who knew her and Frank. Apparantly the ocean makes you stronger than anyone would think.
"Do you go to school here?" She asked, wondering where the girl learned her incredible skills or talent....whatever it may be. It never occurred to Kennie to look over and take in the girl, she felt immediatly at ease being near her. A strange feeling for the girl who took ... longer than most to warm up to even a distant relative.
"I like your name too by the way." She added as an afterthought, though she wasn't sure if was going to scare her the way Kennie sometimes bounced from thought to thought. Laughing lightly she watched the water nip at her toes, receding and coming back for more.

She turned her head back to the ocean when she felt the water nips at her toes. She nodded her head softly. "Yeah." She answered gently brushing a stray hair behind her ear when she felt the wind blow it against her cheek. " I take it you go to White Hill to?" She asked softly watching the ocean when most would turn their heads to look at the person the question was adressed to, but she didn't see a point in it. It's not like she could see Kennie.
She smiled softly and let out a gentle chuckle. "Thanks. I kind of like yours too." She said sweetly turning her head back to where she could hear Kennie's voice. She squinched her toes up in the moist sand under them. The ocean always had a calming affect on her, and she very much liked it. She liked to close her eyes and just imagine the image in her head. She could at least do that much for herself.

Looking towards Lynn for the first time Kennie took in her appearance. She appeared confident and happy within herself, though the first thing she noticed were her eyes. Something wasn't quite right about them. However, it wasn't in Kennie's mindset to bother asking. It wasn't her business after all.
Turning her attention once more to the ocean she chuckled along with the girl. "Yeah, I go. I'm guessing you're there for music?" She said, stating the complete obvious. Kennie wondered why on earth it'd been so easy to approach a girl. The gift of music was more powerful than she'd originally thought it seemed.
The world was calm, the sky was blue with a few white clouds spattering it and the ocean was going at a medium pace. Leaving the rest of the people of the Cape to enjoy the weather as they always did.

She laughed softly and nodded her head. "Yeah. I can play the piano too. I've been playing the piano since I could hoist myself up onto the bench." She said smiling warmly at the fond memory. She remembered a picture of her when she was about three sitting on a bench with her older brother as he pretended to play on the piano.
She missed being able to look at pictures. That was something she had always enjoyed in her life. Being able to look at memories of the past captured in a picture. "What about you? What are you here for?" She asked softly turning her head back to the ocean.

Listening to Lynn speak was soothing. As if she had all the time in the world to be alive and enjoy it, whether or not there was something wrong with her eyesight. Kennie wondered what it felt like to know that people were looking but not being able to see, did it make things easier to ignore?
"I'm here for Music and Acting....I'm about like you with music. Ever since I can remember. Who've you met so far?" Kennie asked in one long sentence almost rather than spacing it all out. She wanted to get to know this girl faster than it was happening. But that's what happens when a Canstine get's too many things going in their head at once.

She smiled listening to Kennie. She was sure that was the same story for about three quarters of the students here, but who was she to judge. She heard the question and her head turned back to Kinnie, but the grin was gone. "You're the first person here that I've actually met." She admited before turning her head back to the ocean as she reached her hand out to her guitar and ran her hand along it for a moment.
She couldn't help herself with this next question that popped into her head. "What's the sky look like today?" She asked gently closing her eyes and lifting her head just imagining the possiblities.

Without hesitation Kennie smiled and glanced at the sky once more. "It's bright blue...that kind of blue that makes you know that it's going to be a good day. There's some clouds but they're just....white fluff bouncing around." The earnest way Kennie said it proved that she had known and didnt' judge. She wanted Lynn to feel as comfortable as she did at that moment. Friendships were hard to come by at the school where everything and anything could be so fleeting.
"Play me something of yours please?" Kennie asked, wanting to see what else this girl had in her. After all if music drew them together what else could it do for them. Kennie was dying to find out.

She smiled warmly at the image that appeared in her mind. She was happy that Kennie didn't judge her for her handicap. It helped to boost her confidence a little knowing that there were people who didn't judge. she brought her head back down taking a deep breath of the salty sea air that soothed her so much.
She smiled weakly and picked up her guitar. "I don't have any of my own songs. I'm horrible at song writting." She admited as her fingers just dabbled around with rythms on the guitar for a moment. "I'm not exactly the most poetic person, but I can make a rythm to something easily." She said smiling gently as her hand strummed along an old country sond her dad likes.

Listening to her describe her inablitiy to write lyrics brought ideas to Kennie's head faster than she could spit them out. "What if you make a rhythm and I come up with some lyrics?" She asked, her voice revealing the flighty/excitedness in her voice. It wasn't everyday she met someone so thrilling to be around after five minutes of idle conversation.
"Tell me how you feel at this moment....the first emotion." She said, wanting to know, pulling the small pad of paper and pencil from her pocket. Something anyone who liked to write was able to do. After all she was one of those writers who was practically addicted to putting words in different situations.

She laughed at the girl's excitment in her tone. Tones and sounds were something she had learned to pick up. She learned over the years that all her other senses strengthened in order to make up for the one lost to her in the car wreck.
She sat there playing the country song for a moment as she thought about her emotion. When she figured it out she smiled softly and started to play a slow tranquilizingly soothing tone. "Tranquil." She said gently turning her head in Kennie's direction before her head turned back to the water. She rythm she was playing matched the slow tempo of the crash of waves onto the beach.
Her hands just kept playing as she thought for a few moments. Her ears perked a little towards the sound of Kennie rusteling the paper of her little notebook before she turned her head back towards the girl with a curious expression.

"I'm a writing addict, keep playing...please!" Kennie said, unable to control her smile. It was rare for her to find someone who was able to just pop songs out at her speed or to even consider it really. Thinking for a moment, chewing at the eraser of her mechanical pencil for a moment she thought, looking up at Lynn.
Tranquil Kennie scrawled at the top of the page in her messy, but beautiful nonetheless, script. "I like it." She said, wishing suddenly that her new found companion could see her expression but knowing somehow half of her appreciation for music was because she couldn't see it. "Now I have to actually think." Kennie began to laugh, pulling the notebook into her lap and crossing her legs so as not to get the miniscule pages wet.
