Sitting inside Greasers was always an experience for someone who dared to do so. It was the town bar and it was almost always full of people. Today, instead of drinking and dancing on tables, Kennie was nursing a shirley temple and waiting for her brother, Frank, to show up.
They still lived together much of the time and she'd long since gotten over the sex tape that him and Twigg and made. After all, Frank was the only one who was still around that had seen every aspect of their parents instead of protecting them from it.
Twirling the cherry on the toothpick she bit it off slowly, wondering what she and Frank would discuss tonight. It was their ritual. Meet up at the seedy bar everyone loved, and drink some and talk. About anything and everything. In Kennie's mind..it'd turned out to be a gift...having their parents disappear. But she still wondered if Frank wanted to find their mom.

"Howdy, sis," Frank said, barging into the bar with a fake Texas accent. To complete the accent, he was wearing a cowboy hat and boots. "Give me a drink. A working man's gotta get his alcohol," he said, once he had actually approached her. He started laughing and took off the hat, hanging it on a rack. He'd never need that again, but someone else might. "Well, how about that drink?" he asked, his voice back to normal. That was the only thing he hadn't been kidding about. The alcohol, his addiction, like a cigarette, which was what he was lighting up right now. "How have you been, Kennie?" he asked, just making talk with his sister.

Hearing her brother's familiar voice, though it was mildly disguised by a thick, fake drawl, Kennie couldn't help but smile. Still sipping at her sweet drink she waited for him to take a seat and begin to speak, as he almost always did. "I may have a label." She said immediatly, her face a light with excitement as their old friend Zakk brought them a couple beers to begin with.
The thin trail of smoke curling from Frank's cigarette was all too tempting to take and have her own satisfying drag, instead she bit at her lip lightly wondering whether or not she'd ask for one before their little meeting was over. They may no longer live in their old home together, but they would always be close. You couldn't go through the things Frank and Jamie went through and not be, things like that didn't happen.
"How have you been little brother?" She asked, smirking. He was only a year younger after all, not the biggest difference.

Noticing his sister's face when he lit the cigarette, he quickly put it out and instead took a swig of his beer. "Ah, Little brother's been alright. Staying out of trouble. Texting a lot. Whatever," he said. "Quit my job. Need to find a new one." He wasn't sure how his sister would take the whole 'quitting the job' news, since Frank had always had such a hard time keeping a stable job. "What about you?" he asked, hoping that they could move onto talking about her.

Listening to Frank was always new for Kennie, though she knew him through and through. When his first boyfriend had left...much to her disappointment...Kennie had been there with ice cream and all other necessities in hand. Perhaps their parents abuse and abandonment wasn't the only reason they were close. Getting him to graduate high school had proven difficult in itself.
Staring at the cigarette for a moment Kennie took a swig of her beer and swallowed, wondering what he was bothered about before she heard his 'quit the job' crack. Choking slightly she coughed at stared at him for a moment before returning to her understanding self. Kennie was just one of those people who...got it without needing to try. "Why'd you quit?" She asked him, taking another swig. If he wanted her to know, he'd tell her, if not then it wouldn't be discussed...they were smart that way.

The truth was, Frank didn't exactly know why he had quit his job. He and his boss had gotten into a fight, and Frank had just walked out with his boss yelling, "YOU'RE FIRED!" behind him. Frank smiled. "Ah, the boss was being a bitch. I'm not sure if he fired me or if I quit," he admitted. He knew he'd have to find a new job and quick to be able to pay the bills, but he thought it'd be nice to not have any worries for a few days. "Anyway," Frank said, changing the subject. "Enough about me. How was my beautiful sister been?"

Shaking her head Kennie had to laugh at the way her brother was nonchalant about quitting all the jobs he had...or been fired. She didn't really want to know which was which half the time. Kennie was perfectly content pretending her brother had few problems and he smiled because he wanted to, not because he felt he had to. Taking another long swig of her beer Kennie laughed heartily.
"Your sister is...just fine." She thought about it for a moment. "What about your romantic life hmm?" She asked, nudging him in the arm slightly. What kind of sister would she be if she didn't ask such a question after all. Besides, it was easier to concentrate on her brother's romantic life rather than her lack of one.

Frank rolled his eyes at his sister's reply. Short. Sometimes people just didn't like talking abut themselves. And sadly, both Frank and Kennie didn't like talking about themselves, making a conversation practically a world wide effort. But he found himself on the verge of giggles. Romanitc life? "Oh, it's been great. Been kicking it with Mother Theresa for a while now," he replied jokingly. "Well, that was a joke, if you didn't notice. It sucks at the moment. Whatever. I don't need one, anyway." He would have actually liked to believe himself, but sometimes Frank found himself wishing for a boyfriend or girlfriend to spoil rotten.

Raising a brow at her one year younger brother Kennie shook her head, finishing off her beer and reaching to her shirley temple to finish off the bitter taste with a sweet, simple one. Smiling lightly at his joking manner Kennie attempted to brush off the sad edge that seemed to be in his voice, however being his sister it was a nearly fruitless effort. "I'm sure you totally believe that." She said, sipping at the drink until it was apparant that ice cubes were not going to fit through her straw.
Twisting the straw in the ice until the bartender took both empty items from her Kennie stared through her brother's eyes. Wondering how they'd made it through their teen years as they had. Nothing short of a miracle. "I think we could all use a little romance. Maybe you could take Twigg out sometime?" She said, smirking with another raised eyebrow. It was one of those things that she always just...did.

Well, apparently he couldn't lie around his sister. Of course not, though. He probably had some way of showing he was lying that only people that knew him very well could distinguish. Romance? Apparently her romance life was going just as well as Frank. "Yeah, and you could ask Elmo out. Both as likely as the other." He rolled his eyes. Again, it was probably obvious he was a sucker when it came to Twigg. They were great friends and all, and sometimes more, but Frank just wasn't sure if either of them could hold a steady relationship.

The bartender set a fresh beer in front of Kennie's open palms, nodding at her with his own strange wink. He was overweight and continuously had the bartender trademark of a white towel slung over his towel. But he was also amazing at immediate spill clean ups. Though the bar wasn't exactly clean and such...it was the place most people went to for this type of thing. Taking a long swig Kennie looked to Frank once more. Knowing better than anyone how he and Twigg felt about each other, but being herself...she hadn't said anything until now. "Come on...I'll take out the old tickle-me-elmo if you take out Twigg..." She said, smiling.
After the sex tape Kennie had a hard time being near her brother and Twigg at the same time...for any long period of time. But that wasn't because she was disgusted or anything...it just had never been something she'd expected of the two. Now though..it was more than blatantly obvious and it broke her heart to think they were honestly fighting it. "You can't deny it forever Frankie..." She said slowly, keeping his gaze steady with her own. The only person alive who could read the boy that way.

The horrible thing about this conversation was that Kennie was actually making sense. He couldn't deny his feelings for Twigg forever, no matter how much he wanted to. But he just wanted to joke around with her and his sister and act like twelve year olds. "Yeah, your first date could be with Elmo. I'm sure his parents would be proud to see him finally getting off TV and having a normal life," he said, shrugging and taking another swig of his beer. Sadly, Frank couldn't hide a smile for long, so the fact that the previous statement had been a total joke wouldn't just stay with him. His lips had formed a huge smile, and he was almost laughing again.

Leaning forward, her elbows propped on the bar while her fingers criss-crossed around the bottle Kennie tilted her head to the side. Studying her brother once more. There were always things that she noticed first off about him. Whether or not he was happy, whether the day had been good....so and so forth. You couldn't rasie yourself and the other person without knowing them through and through.
"Well...." She thought for a moment. "At least it'd stir White Hill up a bit to think that one of the crazy's kids went crazy right?" She asked, that was Kennie's average approach to her parents...it was't something she denied. Besides, by the smile on her face it was like a joke for the most part. Taking another swig she basked in the radiance of her brother's smile, missing it all too much when it was gone.
"I think you should ask her out." She said with earnest. She'd be damned if it was her fault that they weren't together. They just...fit.

It was always very annoying when people tried to perform their "match making magic" on Frank, and his sister was no exception in this area. "I don't think I should just because you want me to. So I may like her...does that mean she likes me?" Well, sometimes he actually questioned his and Twigg's friendship. Was it something more than best friends or friends with benefits? There HAD been something, but was there still something. "I just don't know, Kennie," he sighed. "I like her, but what if she doesn't like me and I tell her a like her? I mean, wouldn't that be kind of strange?"

Taking another swig of her beer Kennie listened intently. Her brother had the type of voice and presonality that made people stop, he was after all, the most extreme person she'd ever met when it came to emotions and anything like it. "I think you should do it because you want to....me dating Elmo is simply an incentive." She said, a smirk toying with her curvaciuos lips.
Frank's insecurities didn't fall on deaf ears. Kennie knew that from the way Twigg looked at him that she thought the same thing. She'd usually shake her head, hoping they'd figure it out on their own. Sadly...it had yet to happen. "I don't think it'd be likely for her to do something like that." She said, finishing off her beer in a long gulp. "I do think that she'll freak if she knows I know, so our little secret?" She asked, giving her brother the look that only he understood. How could siblings not be that close?
