The snow had not yet completely melted but there was not much of it left and the grass was not yet green. It was however a bright and sunny day, the sky clear of any cloud. Students were randomly scattered across the grounds in groups of two or three, some walking in the direction of their next class, others sitting under the shade of the oak trees. Jamie was among those. He sat on the brown grass, legs crossed, leather bound sketchbook posed in his lap with a charcoal pencil moving gracefully across the page, capturing everything around. The steal grey/blue eyes glancing up once in awhile to take in smaller details and making sure that he was getting the picture right. He was humming a random song from his mental playlist under his breath.
He had been sitting out here for just over an hour and the cold was starting to get to him, despite the warm sweater his was wearing and the stripped scarf wrapped around his neck as well as the fingerless gloves that adorned his hands. He was done with his classes for the day but he didn't feel like going home just quite yet. It was too nice out.

Frank had been out wandering the campus all day, deciding which pictures he should keep on his memory card, and which ones would to to the trash bin. He wasn't an art student, but he did certainly have an eye for art. There were now only one hundred pictures left on his memory card. The brown grass made tiny crunch sounds beneath his Vans shoes as he walked off of the sidewalk and onto the grass. "Delete, delete, delete." The three words had actually become more of a song to him than orders for his digital camera. "Hey, I know you!" Frank said excitedly, sitting down next to Jamie without invitation. "What the hell is up?"

Jamie was lightly scratching out the roughness of the bark on one of his Oak trees, he couldn't seem to get it quite right. He had never been that good with trees. Trees and hands, those two were his weaknesses when it came to drawing, though he as killer at eyes if he did say so himself. He heard a voice above him and briefly glanced up at the source. He gave a cute little smirk and looked back down at his page. "Ello. Not to much. And yoursef?" He looked over at Frank with a smile.

Frank watched Jamie drawing what appeared to be a tree. Trees sucked. They were hard to draw, and too big to photograph. "Photography," he replied, smiling. "People and places. Nouns, whatever." He gently placed his camera back into his backpack and looked at the screen of his red razr. Two new texts. He closed the phone. "Perfect day, no?"

"Mm" He murmered. sighing scribbled out the tree and tore out the page. "If only it were warmer" he said with a small laugh. He turned his body so that he was facing Frank, looking at him from the side and started drawing on a new fresh page, sketching the outline of Frank's face. People were so much better to draw. Jamie enjoyed it more. "Don't move for a minute, yeah?" He started filling out the hair first.

"I'll try not to," Frank said, noticing he was this boy's current model...inspiration. Whatever it's called. "Yeah, I do really like hot weather...and green grass. But it's coming, mark my words!" He said, deciding it was time to reply to the ignored texts. He pressed buttons on the keypad for a few minutes, sending a mass text to all of his contact entries. hey. lets chat. now. ttyl...or now!

The pencil moved in swift, fluid motions, sketching and shading. Filling in the eyes and shading out the fullness of the lips...he paused for a moment then shook his head and continued. It only really took like fifteen minutes. It was just a quick sketch after all. He signed the bottom before smiling down at it then turning it, showed it to Frank. He had down others of the boy, better ones. there were quite a few in this book actually. "so, what you doing for the rest of the day?"

"Ah. I'm so handsome," Frank said, smiling as he saw the complete desgin. "You're a very talented artist, my friend." He hadn't gotten any replied from the massive text, so he put his phone away. "I'm not really doing anything, I don't think. Texting, photography, I guess. I guess I could find someone to chill with later." He shrugged. Frank wasn't the kind of person to ever make plans with anyone until the last few moments.

Jamie nodded, looking at the picture one more time before shutting the book with the pencil inside and tieing it shut. He leaned back and let his eyes shut, letting the sun warm his face. He hadn't gotten much sleep last night and he was rather tired but he didn't want to go home. He didn't have any classes tomorrow and he didn't want to sit around and do nothing. He sighed and glanced over at Frank.

Frank had gotten his phone out of his bag now. Not to text, but play Tetris, a game he was horrible at. This goes with this. Bam! Level two. A smile spread on his face when he reached this level. Yeah, he was that bad. Game over. Damn. Final score 1, 275. New record! Yeah, he was that bad.
